Are you searching for a great laptop having a backlit keyboard? Backlit keyboards can offer the ideal illumination for all those who like to enjoy browsing the internet or gaming in the dark at night. While these laptops are a bit more battery intensive than their non-lit counterparts, the specs for these computer systems are often much more than enough to handle any of today’s modern games or heavy image and video editing software programs and applications. We are going to take a look at three models, categorized by the most cheap one, regular one, and the most reliable one.

One of the cheapest laptops with backlit keyboards (which is at the same time very reliable) is the Sony VAIO E Series SVE15112FXS – a 15.6 inch model, released on 4 June, 2012. As we have experience with Vaio, we can truly admit that it is worth the money. This configuration comes with i3 Intel Processor, 4GB of RAM, 640GB SATA hard drive and of course, a backlit keyboard. It is powered by Intel HD Graphics 3000.
The regular and “stylish” one in our collection is the HP Envy. Equipped with a backlit keyboard, beats audio system, Intel i5 processor, 500GB HDD, Windows 7 and 4 GB of RAM, the 14″ HP Envy 4 Ultrabook is rated as one of the most stylish laptops on the market nowadays. What can you expect from the HP Envy Ultrabook? Well, may not be able to play games, but however, this laptop is just perfect portable solution for browsing the Internet, working with not-so-heavy applications, watching movies and many more “regular” activities. Of course, the battery can stay for long (according to tests – approx. 7 hours of normal work). So if you need a stylish laptop with backlit keyboard, you can go ahead for HP Envy.
The most reliable one is definitely the Macbook Pro. If Windows-based computer systems aren’t at your taste, then don’t worry, because Apple provides the MacBook Pro in 3 different sizes. This is the priciest from the laptops with backlit keyboards. Some people say that the hardware doesn’t reflect the price tag, which is definitely not true. If you had the chance to touch an Apple laptop, you will realize why. As we talk about laptops with backlit keyboards, the built quality is important, and the Macbook is doing pretty well here. What is more, the hardware is strongly calibrated with the software. With a Mac, you are not paying only for the style and branding of the product (as many people say), so this really is something to take into consideration if this really is your first Mac buy.

The Macbook with a 13.3 display size may be the smallest from the trio, but it provides a 1280 x 800 resolution. The 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor is on par with what’s found within the Dell Studio 15z, so light multi-tasking for regular use will be perfectly fine. 4GBs/8GBs of RAM is plenty to run Mac OS X Mountain Lion flawlessly. The laptop shouldn’t stutter when performing light image and video editing so long as other tasks are kept to a minimum. If you are interested in a bigger screen size – don’t worry because Apple offers 15″ and 17″ too.

As you can see, the new Apple MacBook Pro provides a really good option to Windows-based computers and is really a solid choice for anyone comparing laptops with backlit keyboards. However, Macbook is not preferred by the gaming community, because of many reasons.
